| It started as a small group of 5 vehicles that had the urge to do a one day little off-roading trip. In the past, that meant getting home at 4 AM in the morning. This time, I couldn't let that happen... When we first got to the gate we were told to be careful of the tanker trucks. It seems that someone's vehicle caught fire and started a brush fire up by the tower the night before. The CDF was up there putting this new fire out. Because of that, Rough road was closed off. So no Dangerous road for us this day. We started off heading for Dead cow road. Annemarie's Geo had new gears and manual hubs. I thought it best to try a little flexing warm-up to see if the Geo was going to stay together this time. The bummer was, as soon as she put it in 4-wheel drive she realized there were problems. So the Geo got parked and the jeeps headed up Dead cow road. Well, we just start getting to the top and notice that the trail is completely covered with broken manzanita. We all turned around and thought, "well, Marshmellow hill and the Old mine road are both closed, we better go hit Creek road. So Creek road it was, then we still had a few hours and decided to go down Tobogan. I tell you, there's nothing better then good friends on the trail! We had a great time!
